Unit 6

The exercise I found a little complicated it first wanted the reader to clear their mind but how can you get into a relaxed state while trying to follow the assessment process by reading the pages. If it was an MP3 I feel the assessment would be a lot easier to achieve the right results. I have found that when asking the questions to myself about parts of my life that are difficult. I could only think of one thing.. that would be being away from my family this past month. I am currently away from my spouse due to training and it has been difficult on both ends of the spectrum. I usually compartmentalize my thoughts of sadness and loneliness in order to be able to go through my day to day duties. My husband is the exact opposite and it has been difficult for him especially since he is the one that usually leaves, its the first time that he has had to deal with the feelings that I usually feel when he is gone. Some areas that I have chosen to focus on is on my mental well being. This is going to allow me to mentally focus on things work wise and home wise. I have felt so distracted lately with other things that I have let my meditation practices slip. Some exercises that would help me get back on track would to spend some time at the end of the day to do my yoga practices.

  1. Nadja,
Thank you for sharing your experiences this week! I agree it was a bit tougher to follow the exercise when it is not on a tape or some type of guide. As the days went on I ended up repeating the 4 sentences into 2 instead. This exercise has helped me appreciate those around me. I am sorry to hear of your distance with family. Back when I started dated my fiance about 8 years ago, he was always gone for 2 months at a time and then home for 2 months. I had to always keep my mind busy in order to cope. Hope you can practice more yoga to help!
